AOL Names Julie M. Jacobs General Counsel

NEW YORK--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) today announced the appointment of Julie M. Jacobs as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. As AOLa™s chief legal officer, Jacobs will oversee the companya™s legal affairs, manage the AOL legal department and provide counsel to senior management on a range of issues.

Jacobs joined AOL in 2000 and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel where she managed all the corporate and transactional legal work for the company including securities law compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions. Jacobs, who will report to Chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong, succeeds Ira Parker, who is transitioning to an advisory role at AOL after serving as General Counsel since 2006.

Jacobs, 43, joined AOL from Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy LLP, where she represented foreign and domestic clients in connection with major financings, transactions, securities offerings and restructurings. Selected as Deal Maker of the Year in 2007 by the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel, Jacobs graduated J.D. cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center and holds a bachelora™s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
