SEATTLE--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ F5 Networks, Inc. ] (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, is the primary sponsor of this yeara™s [ Bike to Work Day ], taking place on Friday, May 21, 2010. Bike to Work Day, a [ Cascade Bicycle Club ] event, represents the culmination of many National Bike Month activities held throughout May. The goal of the event is to help commuters experience first-hand the health and environmental benefits of biking to work and to persuade city officials to create more safe, convenient bicycle facilities, including bicycle lanes and parking racks, around the region.

"Last year, nearly 20,000 Seattle-area workers participated in Bike to Work Day, and we feel confident that number will climb even higher this year"

aThe aBike to Worka™ push is an opportunity for F5 to help Seattle support cycling and, in particular, the citya™s bicycle commuters,a said Dan Matte, SVP of Marketing and Business Development at F5, and an avid bicycle commuter. aAs a leader in the Seattle technology market, we strive to influence our employees and local businesses to adopt practices that contribute to the greater good of the community.a

aLast year, nearly 20,000 Seattle-area workers participated in Bike to Work Day, and we feel confident that number will climb even higher this year,a added Matte. aIn parallel, a substantial number of F5a™s Seattle-based employees are participating this yeara"some of them first-time riders.a

The Bike to Work Day event officially kicks off with a 7:30 a.m. bike rally at Seattle City Hall, with several City of Seattle officials, including Mayor Mike McGinn, as special guest speakers. Between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., riders can stop by one of 44 [ commute stations ] hosted by the Cascade Bicycle Club throughout the Puget Sound region to get a free bicycle checkup, enter a free drawing, and pick up a free water bottle, snacks, maps, and other items. aIta™s great to have the kind of inspirational support we get from F5, a company genuinely committed to helping us make bicycling a viable alternative for getting to work in Seattle,a said Chuck Ayers, Executive Director of Cascade Bicycle Club. aBy involving F5a™s staff and other business leaders, we can work together to elevate the many benefits of bicycling, beyond just recreation.
