DAVIS, CA--(Marketwire - May 27, 2009) - Octus Energy (OTCBB: [ OCTI ]) ([ www.octusenergy.com ]) today announced the addition of two senior executives to its management team, amplifying the company's pursuit to commercialize its full-scale Smart Energy Platform. Joining the company are Mike McConnell as Manager, Business Development, and John Mattice as Manager, Energy Efficiency Projects.

McConnell has more than 25 years' experience in high technology. He was a founder and served as CEO and Vice President of Strategic Marketing for KeyEye Communications, a fabless semiconductor company. Prior to founding KeyEye McConnell was Director of Business Development at Intel Corporation and Level One Communications, which was acquired by Intel in 1999. Prior to joining Level One in 1993 he founded and operated an engineering consulting and contracting company specializing in data communications. McConnell has been an active member and contributor to several international high-speed data communication and control systems standards committees.

Mattice is a seasoned energy industry executive with more than 15 years' experience securing, designing, managing and executing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. He has managed more than 200 energy projects, including the creation and management of a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. partnership that generated 25-plus energy efficiency projects for PG&E. Mattice managed and executed a heavy industrial incentive program for Lockheed Martin, and has chartered energy projects with numerous public sector (local government, school districts, community colleges and universities) and private sector (Kellogg, Gallo, McClatchy, etc.) clients. Prior to Octus, he directed Energy Management Solutions, specializing in optimized energy systems for commercial, industrial and government facilities.
