Commercial suborbital flights to space have yet to be launched, with [ Space Adventures ] being one of the first companies expected to offer such flights to the public. In addition to being one of the first to participate in a commercial space travel flight, León could be the first Chilean in space as no Chilean has participated in a space flight at this time. Prior to his suborbital space flight experience, León will participate in four days of extensive training and flight preparation.
Symantec launched the "Blast Off With Norton" sweepstakes in winter 2008 as part of the [ Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus 2009 ] product launches. The "Blast Off With Norton" sweepstakes was a global contest where 30 people were selected to win a seat on a Norton chartered ZERO-G flight in Florida on Feb. 21, 2009. Immediately after the ZERO-G flight, one lucky contestant was picked to win the suborbital flight to space.

Jorge Patricio León López is 32 years old and serves as an ethical audiovisual professor at the University of Saint Tomas and the University of San Marcos de Concepción. León has pursued studies in cinema and television in the School of Audio Visual Communication at the University Holy Tomás, and he has worked for various radio and television outlets in Chile. In his spare time, León enjoys working as a VJ for various events in Chile.
