Ericsson (NASDAQ: [ ERIC ]) and Telenor Sweden today announced the first ever contract for Ericsson's Business Communication Suite (BCS), which will enhance multimedia experiences for Telenor's enterprise customers with collaboration services in Sweden. Ericsson will also be responsible for the expansion, upgrade and systems integration of Telenor's IMS network.

Ericsson's Business Communication Suite is the first service of its kind to be based on IMS. The delivery and integration phase of the BCS and the extended IMS-based network has already begun.

Lars-Åke Norling, CEO of Telenor Sweden, says: "Ericsson's Business Communication Suite solution opens up new and exciting opportunities in the enterprise area and will enable new ways of mobile working for our business customers, giving them the choice between integrated fixed and mobile telephony and customized solutions."

Mikael Bäckström, President of Ericsson Nordic and Baltics, says: "We are pleased to support Telenor in such a strategically important step. This agreement reaffirms Ericsson's strong commitment and capabilities in the IMS area and our ability to deliver innovative solutions such as the Business Communication Suite."
