LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwire - March 11, 2009) - Procera Networks Inc. (NYSE Alternext US: [ PKT ]), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today announced yet another mobile Tier-1 win for Procera's high-end PacketLogic™ PL10000 platform. The operator, with over 6 million subscribers, will install multiple PL10014 chassis to secure quality on their mobile broadband services, but more importantly roll-out personalized service plans to meet individual customer needs. Per subscriber policies are implemented using PSM (PacketLogic Subscriber Manager), Procera's latest addition to the product portfolio, to integrate with policy control, user authentication and other support systems. Traffic statistics are aggregated on the recently announced PL1400 Statistics server.

"Mobile broadband is an area where we see tremendous growth, and we continue to prove that we're well-positioned as a leader in this space," said James F. Brear, president and CEO of Procera Networks. "Once again a customer confirms that we're winning on functionality and scalability. We provide investment protection and robust technology that presents a quick return on the investment. In today's economy, that is extremely valuable."

Mobile operators worldwide require DPI to manage a costly and limited backhaul that may cause congestion and degraded performance. Better utilization of the network and postponed upgrade investments offer substantial monetary value. Mobile operators' experience with personalized service offerings drives a faster adoption of service creation than in fixed broadband. This is used to gain a competitive edge and enable charging for the actual value provided to the customers. At the packet core of the network, mobile operators are faced with the same challenge as fixed broadband operators -- to secure quality with a broad mix of applications and constantly increasing traffic volumes.

"We're thrilled to be chosen after the extensive evaluation process this Tier-1 operator performed, culminating in an initial order of approximately $1 million dollars," said Brear. "They saw our unique strengths and capabilities and we managed to get the complete message across. I'm happy with how our sales have developed and continue to demonstrate our ability to win top deals -- not just once, but repeatedly."
