Procera Networks Deploys One of the World's Largest Deep Packet Inspection Systems

The increasing performance under challenging conditions was also recently proven at DreamHack, the world's largest computer festival. More than 10,000 heavy users, generating 22 Gbps of traffic, were managed by two PL10005 chassis offering 10 Gbps full duplex capacity. The PacketLogic performance was confirmed by processor utilization remaining far below the critical threshold even under these demanding conditions.
"In addition to performance, the DreamHack event was also a validation of PacketLogic's asymmetric traffic support. With 50 percent of all traffic being asymmetric, we were still able to stay south of 1 percent overhead traffic during peak usage times," continued Lindén. "In live installations we've learned the critical requirements for these high-end systems and have been able to modify the PL10000 configuration accordingly since the original launch of this hardware platform in May this year. We're prepared to go higher and I foresee even bigger systems being deployed in the near future."
