SAN JOSE, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Veraz Networks, Inc. ] (NASDAQ:VRAZ), the leading provider of [ Multimedia Generation Network ] application, control, and bandwidth optimization products, today announced that [ Dollar Phone Corp. ] has chosen Veraz's session management and security solution for its wholesale transport network. The solution, which includes Veraz's next-generation session border controller (SBC), the Network-adaptive Border Controller (N-aBC), will provide Dollar Phone with an advanced security platform integrated into their core network that can handle both TDM and IP based security threats.

"We evaluated security solutions from several vendors including Veraz to assess their ability to protect against a variety of threats and maintain high call quality," stated Josh Zaidman, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Dollar Phone. "Our goal was to maximize protection against malicious attacks, to improve network availability and further ensure that mission-critical applications are always available to our customers. Veraz's solution offered the best resistance against security attacks and performed well during the trial. We were also very pleased with how well Veraz worked with us to fix any issues we came across during the trial."

Unlike traditional session border controllers, the N-aBC provides cost-effective and secure interconnection capabilities for both SS7 and SIP services. By separating the signaling security from the media security, the N-aBC also enables a single point of signaling security management across multiple endpoints in the network. In addition, because the N-aBC is built into Veraz's [ ControlSwitch ]™ softswitch platform, security and routing policies can be fully integrated and managed centrally, simplifying operations and improving network security.

"By deploying Veraz's next generation security platform, Dollar Phone demonstrates its commitment to providing its customers with innovative and high quality services," said Araya Hailu, Veraz Vice President Sales, North America. "Veraz Networks is pleased that Dollar Phone has selected the Network–adaptive Border Controller to meet its security requirements and looks forward to continuing to support the company as its business grows."
