AMCC to Host IEEE 802.1 and 802.3 Interim Meetings in New Orleans

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ:AMCC), a global leader in embedded [ Power Architecture ]® processing, high-speed [ optical transport ], and robust digital [ storage ] solutions, today announced it will host [ the IEEE 802.1™ bridging and IEEE 802.3™ Ethernet interim sessions ] from Jan. 12-16 in New Orleans.

All active IEEE 802.1 and 802.3 task forces are scheduled to meet during the week to continue the development of the next generation of wired networking standards. The task force members will tackle Ethernet architecture issues such as improved Power over Ethernet, 10Gb/s Ethernet passive optical networking, energy-efficient Ethernet, 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s Ethernet, data center bridging and audio/video bridging. In addition, the IEEE 802.1 and 802.3 working groups will hold a joint session to discuss topics in common for both working groups, such as adapting of Ethernet technology for use in time-sensitive audio and video applications.
