ANDOVER, MA--(Marketwire - December 5, 2008) - NaviSite, Inc., (NASDAQ: [ NAVI ]), a leading provider of enterprise hosting and application solutions, today announced that it has completed the SAS 70 Type II (Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) Audit for their Andover, MA, Minneapolis, MN, San Jose, CA and Dallas, TX Facilities for the period October 1st , 2007 to September 30th, 2008. The SAS 70 Type II Audit was performed by a nationally recognized independent public accounting firm.

The successful completion of a SAS 70 Type II Audit for another year demonstrates NaviSite's continued commitment to adhere to the industry-leading compliance standards to offer reliable, cost-effective hosting services to customers. The controls reviewed in the Audit included Physical Security, System Back-up, Logical Authentication and Access, Security Monitoring, System Enhancements and Maintenance, Systems Implementation and Problem Management. Each of these controls is in compliance with the Control Objectives outlined by NaviSite as a part of its SAS 70 program.

SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which allows service organizations to disclose their control activities and processes to their customers and their auditors in a uniform reporting format. A SAS 70 Type II Audit establishes that an organization has gone through in-depth examination of its internal procedures, and helps the organization to demonstrate to its customers that they have adequate controls and safeguards to host and process their data. The SAS 70 Audit is conducted by an independent accounting and auditing firm, and, at the completion of the audit, a report is issued to the organization.
