The Bay Area News Group's 25-question survey was conducted in partnership with the independent research firm Workplace Dynamics. The ranking is based on a composite score of employee response to survey questions regarding company direction, workplace conditions, career opportunities, company execution, management, and pay and benefits. About 1,520 Bay Area companies were invited to participate, with 112 companies meeting participation response thresholds of 50 percent of a company's employees based in the Bay Area. Ninety-two percent of NetSuite's San Mateo employees participated in the survey. Seventy-five companies in total are on the Bay Area list.
