QlikTech Donates $20,000 for Pakistan Flood Relief Efforts
RADNOR, Pa.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--QlikTech (NASDAQ:QLIK), a leading business intelligence software company, today announced its gift of $20,000 to support Pakistan flood relief efforts. The company made a donation for each new customer added during the third quarter of 2010 as part of its Change Their World social responsibility program. This donation comes just months after QlikTecha™s employee and partner-driven charitable contributions for disaster relief efforts in both Chile and Haiti, totaling $75,000.
"We recognize the long-term needs of those affected by the Pakistan floods and the reality that aid has not reached them as generously as victims of comparable disasters"
QlikTecha™s donation will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a UK-based umbrella organization, which channels funds to 13 humanitarian agencies that deliver life-saving support to children and families based on international guidance on standards and best practices. Over 1,600 people are reported to have died and 20 million people are believed to have been affected by the floods.
Through a challenge to commit a donation for each new contract in Q3, QlikTech was able to provide significant relief including:
- For every 2 new customers, 25,000 chlorine tablets can be provided for safe drinking water
- For every 4 new customers QlikTech was able to feed 20 families for a month
- For every 8 new customers 10 sturdy family tents to withstand winter can be donated
