Future Commercial Satellite Communications Services Acquisition (FCSA) Update

Wednesday, October 13:  2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.: Tony Bardo, assistant vice president for Government Solutions at Hughes, will participate in a panel discussing the General Services Administration (GSA) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) FCSA partnership to acquire commercial satellite communications for services across government. The discussion with include a brief history of FCSA, its progress to date and ongoing activities under the contract vehicle.

Optimizing Technology Choices for Comms-on-the-Move

Thursday, October 14:  11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of Hughes Defense and Intelligence Systems Division will serve as a panelist discussing the pervasive need for broadband data on-the-move for military applications. He will also address how rapidly Ku and Ka-band capacities can be deployed for global coverage, including at sea, and how the needs of the military differ from the commercial sector.

Hughes will also showcase its latest technologies and solutions at SATCON 2010 in booth #635.
