AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - May 26, 2010) - SolarWinds® Inc. (NYSE: [ SWI ]), a leading provider of powerful and affordable [ IT management software ] to more than 93,000 customers worldwide, and Ingram Micro Australia today announced a new distribution agreement designed to support expanded availability and access to SolarWinds' award-winning products in the Australian market. As part of the agreement, Ingram Micro will offer its reseller partners access to the complete range of SolarWinds products, including the [ Orion® suite ] of network and application management solutions, and the recently acquired [ Profiler™ ] suite of storage and virtualization products.

Through this working relationship, SolarWinds and Ingram Micro plan to add a significant number of additional resellers to the SolarWinds Synergy Partner Program by the end of 2010. The program gives resellers sales and marketing support, training and support services, and is offered in varying tiers, based on transactions and certification.

"As we continue to expand our presence in the Asia-Pacific region, the Australian market is a key focus for us. It makes sense for us to move forward with a well-respected channel partner with a reputation for strong training, customer education and channel support," said Justin Endres, Vice President, International Sales at SolarWinds. "We believe that Ingram Micro's experience and relationships in the region will help us reach a wider audience, and develop a dynamic set of channel partners that can confidently promote and deliver SolarWinds' network, application and storage management solutions to their customers."

"SolarWinds' solutions are extremely appealing to our reseller partners -- they offer a spot-on blend of affordability, features and ease-of-use from a company with a reputation for solving real-world problems," said Darren Elsby, Group Product Manager for Ingram Micro Australia. "We believe SolarWinds' solutions will be highly complementary to the products and solutions Ingram Micro already distributes in the enterprise technology market, and offer our reseller partners a great opportunity to build additional services on top of the SolarWinds' tools."

Irwinconsult, one of Australia's leading engineering consultants for building design and construction throughout Australia and Asia, is an example of how the region's businesses can benefit from using SolarWinds. The company uses SolarWinds' [ Orion Network Performance Monitor (NPM) ] and [ Orion Application Performance Monitor (APM) ] to proactively alert and diagnose network and application potential problems before they became disruptive to their users. The complete customer case study is available on the SolarWinds [ website ].

"Our network has become bigger and more complex, and increasingly hard to monitor. Since adopting SolarWinds' products, we've benefited from time saved, reduced disruption, more detailed knowledge of the network and we can now seamlessly manage the network with just one person, if necessary," said Luisa Umber, Irwinconsult IT support.
