Andean Resources Appoints William Wulftange as Vice President Exploration
FREMANTLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2009) - Andean Resources ("Andean" or the "Company")(TSX:AND)(ASX:AND) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. William (Butch) Wulftange as Vice President, Exploration, effective January 1, 2010. Mr. Wulftange, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from the University of Colorado in 1982, is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists, a Registered Member of the Society of Mining Engineers and a Licensed Professional Geologist.
During his 27 years of gold industry experience, Mr. Wulftange has made significant contributions to the exploration and discovery of several producing operations, including two world class deposits: the Paradise Peak gold mine in Nevada and the El Penon mine in northern Chile. Most recently, Mr. Wulftange served as the Director of Technical Compliance for Yamana Gold and prior to that was the Manager of Business Development for Meridian Gold before its acquisition by Yamana Gold in 2007.
