LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - MATECH Corp. (OTCBB: [ MTCH ]). ([ www.matechcorp.com ]) is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with the renowned engineering firm of HNTB to inspect a critical bridge structure in Harrisburg, PA for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) ([ http://www.dot.state.pa.us/ ]).

HNTB Corporation has helped plan, maintain, and expand America's infrastructure for almost a century. From Florida's Turnpike Enterprise and California's new high-speed rail line to the expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center and the latest runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, HNTB's work spans the nation.

According to the terms of the contract, MATECH will provide fatigue crack inspection as part of HNTB's ongoing contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the agency responsible for overseeing transportation issues in Pennsylvania. PennDOT supports over 40,500 miles of state roads and highways, about 25,000 bridges, as well as new roadway construction.

Robert M. Bernstein, MATECH's CEO, stated: "A strong supporter of utilizing the most advanced technologies in order to ensure the public safety, PennDOT has been a consistent client of MATECH's. We are pleased to be working with HNTB on this project for PennDOT, and anticipate that this will lead to an on-going relationship with HNTB."

MATECH has a proven track record of saving bridge owners money through improving bridge management and public safety with its cutting edge technology, the EFS System. Through eliminating subjectivity of inspections for cracking in bridge members (the FHWA has stated that 90% of these cracks are missed with visual inspection), MATECH is helping to eliminate wasted funds by prioritizing repairs and providing immediate verification of their effectiveness.
