CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - October 2, 2009) - HR Technology® Conference -- [ Salary.com ], Inc. (NASDAQ: [ SLRY ]), a leading provider of on-demand talent management, compensation, payroll and solutions, won the "Second Annual Talent Management Shootout" at the [ HR Technology® Conference ] in Chicago.

Salary.com, Lawson, Plateau and SAP demonstrated their companies' respective solutions by working through three real-life talent management scenarios. Human resource professionals voted for their favorite upon the completion of each scenario, and Salary.com swept all three segments. CEO Kent Plunkett led the demonstration on behalf of Salary.com.

During the Shootout, Plunkett demonstrated how Salary.com's [ TalentManager ]® seamlessly links talent management processes across multiple modules including:

-- Competency Management -- Goal Management -- Performance Management -- Compensation Planning -- Succession Planning -- Employee Development -- Career Planning -- Employee Profile

Shootout organizers invited nearly 30 different vendors to participate in the Shootout. Each was given an opportunity to review and comment on early drafts of the Shootout's scripted scenarios. Ultimately, eight vendors put themselves forward as Shootout candidates, and the final four were selected in a random drawing to participate.

This year's Shootout was the 13th held by the HR Technology Conference, and the second to focus on talent management. The Shootout is organized by conference co-chair Bill Kutik, host of [ The Bill Kutik Radio Show ]® and columnist for [ Human Resource Executive ]. Co-authoring the Shootout scripts was Leighanne Levensaler, director of talent management research at [ Bersin and Associates ].

"The Shootout is the only opportunity in the world to compare live talent management software side-by-side, and has become the signature event at the annual HR Technology® Conference," Kutik said. "Congratulations to Salary.com for capturing the audience vote following strong presentations by all of the vendors."

"The Shootout is a terrific opportunity to demonstrate the full breadth of TalentManager®, our best-of-breed SaaS solution," Plunkett said. "We're proud to win, but the biggest winners are the HR Technology® Conference attendees. By comparing the technology offerings of several different vendors, they can best judge whose software is easiest to use, highly configurable and offers a complete solution with embedded content."
