Acxiom Obtains FBI Certification for Channeling Services
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Acxiom ][ ® ][ Corporation ] (Nasdaq: ACXM) announced today it has been authorized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to provide channeling services to companies required to obtain FBI fingerprint-based [ criminal background checks ] before hiring for certain jobs.
To earn preapproved status from the [ FBI ], Acxiom had to demonstrate it met bureau standards for security protocol. The designation allows Acxiom to receive noncriminal justice applicant fingerprints for FBI processing and return criminal history record check results to authorized recipients via the Web. Marketed primarily to the financial services industry, the service will address federal requirements that financial institutions conduct fingerprint checks in connection with certain jobs.

Acxiom accepts either manually printed fingerprint cards or electronic (LiveScan) fingerprint transmissions from authorized companies, submitted to Acxiom through a secure Internet connection. Acxiom can also provide additional screening services in the event that a record is returned with inconclusive results.
Acxiom's service provides an additional security layer by authenticating individual client users authorized by the FBI to view the encrypted Criminal History Record Information (CHRI). Acxiom personnel do not view the CHRI data but rather post results from the FBI to an Acxiom site for viewing by the authorized client.
