SAN JOSE, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--IDT® (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.) (NASDAQ:IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced that it was included in the prestigious list of EDN magazine's Hot 100 Products ― a list built by and for electronics engineers. The IDT DisplayPort™ compatible receiver, PanelPort™, was one of 10 digital, memory and programmable ICs recognized by the publication's readership and editorial staff as hot products for 2008. EDN praised the honorees in a special report published in the publication's December 18, 2008 issue for representing "the best of the best — the products and technologies that in 2008 really grabbed the attention of our editors and our readers."

"EDN editors cover an amazingly broad technology base and see compelling products across the spectrum throughout the year," states Editor in Chief Rick Nelson. "The Hot 100 Electronic Products list highlights the best of the products from our feature and new-product articles and web coverage over the course of the year. From components to processors to test instruments, each of these 100 products stands out in the crowd."

The IDT PanelPort device offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a fully certified and compliant DisplayPort technology. Moreover, the IDT PanelPort device provides an increased level of digital signal integrity by significantly reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) on all flat panel display interfaces by utilizing IDT spread spectrum clocking technology. The PanelPort device is able to achieve this level of digital signal integrity through its unique incorporation of in-house customizable serializer/deserializer (SerDes) and industry leading IDT serial interface and timing technologies. Following the IDT corporate initiative to improve customer power efficiency whenever possible, the IDT customized PanelPort solution is architected to improve performance by extending battery life and reducing power consumption through optimal thermal management, thus enabling further differentiation for the flat panel display market. In addition, the IDT PanelPort device includes an embedded, programmable TCON with industry's most flexibility for notebook, monitor and LCD HDTV Panel applications.

"We are honored to be included among EDN Magazine's influential listing of Hot 100 products as it validates our commitment to developing technologies that help enhance the digital media experience," said Ji Park, vice president and general manager of the IDT Video Display Operation. "We look forward to continuing to develop PanelPort solutions as a part of our broader strategy to serve the ongoing, behind the panel needs, of this very exciting market."
