GRAPEVINE, TX--(Marketwire - December 16, 2008) - OptiCon Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: [ OPCN ]) announced today the company intends to open sales offices in Johannesburg, South Africa and Auckland, New Zealand in 1st and 2nd quarter of 2009.

The company released the following statement: "Our goal has always been to continue marketing and selling the OptiCon Fiber Optic Management System in the U.S. while expanding our sales opportunities outside the U.S. We've had a multitude of inquiries from South Africa as well as Australia, and New Zealand telecommunications providers that are aggressively expanding their fiber initiatives. It is important for us to capitalize on these opportunities so suffice to say, the need for local sales and marketing teams that can handle these inquiries will be a key component to our global growth. OptiCon intends to expand in those markets through joint ventures, VARS and local partnerships. We will also work hard with local and regional government agencies in these countries to ensure OptiCon's presence is highly publicized. This will assist OptiCon in diversifying our exposure to one economic market while opening up additional opportunities for global growth of the company."
