The article from Vanguard Nigeria details a horrific incident where a man named Kabiru Idris lured his friend, Usman Abubakar, to a burial ground in Kogi State under the pretense of digging up a treasure. Once there, Idris attacked Abubakar, slitting his throat and leaving him for dead. The attack was motivated by a dispute over a N15,000 debt that Abubakar owed Idris. Miraculously, Abubakar survived the assault and managed to crawl to a nearby village for help. He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Lokoja for treatment. The police have arrested Idris, who confessed to the crime, and he is currently in custody awaiting trial. The incident has shocked the local community and highlighted issues of trust and betrayal among friends.
