Investigators are working to piece together why Luigi Mangione decided to gun down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in a brazen attack on a Manhattan street.

Luigi Mangione, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was involved in a shooting incident in Cincinnati where he shot a man who was allegedly breaking into his car. The event took place around 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night. According to reports, Mangione confronted the suspect, leading to a physical altercation during which he fired his gun, striking the man in the upper body. The suspect was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Mangione, who legally carried a concealed weapon, was not injured. The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed against Mangione as of the latest updates. The police have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and they are reviewing all aspects of the event.
