WORTHINGTON, OH--(Marketwire - Aug 15, 2012) - Midwest Energy Emissions Corp (OTCBB: [ MEEC ]) announced today that it has signed an agreement with a major Southwestern U.S. power producer to perform a demonstration of Midwest's mercury removal technology on one of the power producer's large generating units. The demonstration will be carried out this fall.

Alan Kelley, President of Midwest commented, "This is another of what is expected to be many tests as companies prepare to meet the mercury emission limits set to begin in early 2015 under the EPA MATS rule."
