Industry Veteran to Head up Worldwide Channel Sales at Aruba Networks
SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - December 16, 2009) - Aruba Networks, Inc. (
"Channel execution is one of the key drivers behind Aruba's strong growth over the last four quarters, and we've brought Bob on board to accelerate the trend," said Dominic Orr, Aruba's president and CEO. "Goldman Sachs' latest IT market survey shows that a growing number of IT managers are looking for bids from networking vendors other than Cisco, and as a best-of-breed vendor Aruba is named as a 'disproportionate beneficiary' of that trend. We want to help our channel partners capitalize on this opportunity, and Bob's long and successful career at some of Silicon Valley's most storied companies make him an ideal choice for this important role."
Prior to joining Aruba, Mr. Bruce was the Vice President of North American Sales for Meru Networks, a privately-owned supplier of proprietary wireless networks that recently completed its Series F financing round ($182 million raised to date). At Meru, Mr. Bruce was responsible for managing domestic sales operations.
Before joining Meru, Mr. Bruce oversaw Juniper Networks' service provider and enterprise channels in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America as the company's Vice President of Americas Channels and head of Western enterprise sales. Prior to Juniper he served for nearly a decade as Cisco Systems' Vice President of U.S. Channels where he helped build Cisco's channel business by accelerating bookings and increasing customer satisfaction. Mr. Bruce held similar sales positions at 3Com and Rolm/IBM before joining Cisco. Mr. Bruce holds an M.S. in Engineering Mechanics and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
"My tenures at Juniper, Cisco, and 3COM witnessed periods of enormous growth and technological ferment, and I see the very same processes in play at Aruba," said Mr. Bruce. "Aruba is pumping resources into its channel programs, and has the financial muscle to significantly expand their scope. The award-winning customer support, backed by outstanding execution and an exceptional technological vision, truly sets Aruba apart."
