Cubic Corporation: Grant Palmer Joins Cubic as VP Communications Systems

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 1, 2009) - Cubic Defense Applications, Inc., the defense systems business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: [ CUB ]), today announced that Grant Palmer has joined Cubic as Vice President of Communications Systems.

"Grant will manage our defense communications business and focus on strengthening the company's data links, optical communications, and intelligence business base. He will lead efforts to expand Cubic's presence in the UAV and tactical communications markets," said Bradley H. Feldmann, President of Cubic Defense Applications, Inc.

Cubic is a leading supplier of data links, direction finding (DF) systems, power amplifiers, SIGINT receivers, and optical communications products. In his new role, Palmer will work closely with the Department of Defense, prime contractor community, and current customers to expand Cubic's role in communication systems, while expanding the company's access to research and development funding in important technology areas.

Palmer's strong background spans a number of key technology areas including satellite, wireless, backhaul solutions, IT infrastructure, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems. Prior to joining Cubic, Palmer was a principal at The Spectrum Group, an Alexandria, Virginia-based consulting firm, where he focused on C4ISR markets, merger and acquisition analysis, and advanced systems engineering. During his career, he served in a number of leadership positions in engineering, advanced development, and general management.
