• The upcoming [ Oracle® OpenWorld ] conference, October 11-15, 2009 at Moscone Center in San Francisco, will feature dedicated programming and lively discussion exploring today's unprecedented challenges facing life sciences and healthcare organizations.
• As part of a [ dedicated health sciences track ], Deven McGraw from the Center for Democracy & Technology will help lead a session on "Vital Issues for Healthcare Executives."
• This session will cover the vision, goals, and timeframe for key changes to IT standards, privacy, and interoperability in support of health IT adoption. Meaningful use, interoperability, governance, privacy and security, and performance measurement will be among the topics discussed.
• Deven McGraw is active in efforts to advance the secure adoption and implementation of health information technology and electronic health information exchange to improve patient care.
• She was one of three persons appointed by Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), to serve on the Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee, a federal advisory committee established in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
