  • A University of Wyoming program that promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) through hands-on learning reached nearly 8,000 K-12 students, educators and senior citizens across the state this past year.

The University of Wyoming's Science Initiative has launched a series of roadshows aimed at promoting STEM education across Wyoming. These roadshows, which began in January 2024, feature interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities designed to engage students from elementary to high school levels in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The initiative seeks to inspire future scientists and engineers by bringing university-level science directly to Wyoming communities, fostering a culture of curiosity and innovation. Faculty, graduate students, and staff from various departments at UW travel to different parts of the state, showcasing experiments and discussing career opportunities in STEM fields. The program not only aims to educate but also to build connections between the university and local schools, encouraging students to consider higher education and careers in STEM.
