The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has announced that 58 schools in Alabama will receive a total of $246,000 through its STEM Classroom Grant Program. This funding aims to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education by providing resources for hands-on learning experiences. The grants will support various projects, including the development of STEM labs, the purchase of educational materials, and the implementation of innovative teaching methods. Schools like Albertville High School, which plans to expand its STEM offerings, and Athens Intermediate School, focusing on robotics and coding, are among the recipients. This initiative reflects TVA's commitment to fostering a skilled workforce and promoting economic development in the region by preparing students for future careers in STEM fields.
