ANNAPOLIS, MD and ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - April 11, 2011) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (
DIACAP certification, the process by which information systems are certified for compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements and accredited for operation, allows the DoD to utilize the TCS Continuity Alert System for on-demand alerting and response services. TCS' alert system simplifies the complexity of communication in times of crisis, enabling the DoD to alert thousands of personnel immediately. By using a functionally rich, multimodal communications technology, the alert system communicates over multiple contact points, such as mobile phone, landline, e-mail, text message, and pager text message via a hosted web-based solution.
The TCS Continuity Alert System, powered by [ Send Word Now ], has received the full Authority to Operate from the Army Chief Information Officer/G-6. The Continuity Alert System is a component of TCS' total Continuity of Operations portfolio of solutions, including secure communications, managed satellite services, business continuity planning, security consulting, and training.
TCS will demonstrate its business continuity and emergency management portfolio of services during the Continuity Insights 2011 Management Conference Booth 89 in Atlanta, GA, April 11-13, 2011.
"TCS' business continuity solutions are focused on providing our customers the capability to communicate and act to maintain their missions in times of crisis," stated Mike Bristol, senior vice president of TCS government solutions group. "The DIACAP certification enables the Department of Defense to quickly deploy a proven commercial off the shelf alert system that meets government security standards and provides immediate business continuity capability."
