The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is sponsoring this conference to bring together a diverse gathering of participants to share insights, ideas, and updates on the rapidly evolving solid-state lighting (SSL) market. In 2009, the DOE launched a new SSL research and development initiative designed to enhance the quality and lower the cost of SSL products through improvements in manufacturing equipment and processes. At that time, more than 350 industry-leading stakeholders joined DOE at two workshops to build a roadmap for SSL manufacturing in the U.S. The participants in the current workshop will re-examine roadmap priority topics and network with the nationa™s leading manufacturing experts.
