




Mitel Improves Global Market Performance in IP Telephony and Unified Communications and Collaboration
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 15, 2010) - [ Mitel ]® (NASDAQ:MITL), a trusted provider of [ unified communications ] software solutions, today announced that it has outperformed the market in IP telephony port shipments as well as [ unified communications ] and collaboration (UCC) revenue gain in Q1 calendar year 2010, according to recently published reports from Synergy Research Group, a leading market research firm.
According to Synergy's report, "Enterprise Voice Market Share Report Q1 2010," [ Mitel ] was top amongst the major vendors in outperforming the market with a quarter over quarter increase in port shipments of 6.2% when compared to calendar Q4 2009. This resulted in a market share gain of almost 1.0% bringing Mitel's overall global IP telephony market share to 6.7% and a jump from seventh to fifth place.
For "[ Unified Communications ]& Collaboration (UCC) Worldwide Q1 Market Share Analysis," [ Mitel ] outpaced the total global market in unified communications revenues with a 4.8% increase and was the top vendor in overall percentage revenue gain from calendar Q4 2009 to Q1 2010.
Regionally, Synergy data shows that Mitel increased shipments by 18.4% in Europe which represents the highest market share gain of any vendor (2.3%) resulting in 7.3% market share. While in North America gains solidified Mitel's position as a top three vendor in IP telephony ports shipments.
