SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 20, 2010) - MicroProbe, Inc., a leading supplier of wafer test technology to the global semiconductor industry, today challenged the accusations outlined in a lawsuit filed last week by FormFactor (NASDAQ: [ FORM ]) in California Federal District Court.

"We have reviewed FormFactor's complaint with our advisors and legal team," said MicroProbe's Chief Executive Officer, Mike Slessor. "We believe the claims are without merit and we intend to mount a vigorous defense. With a robust intellectual property portfolio developed over its 35-year history, MicroProbe takes IP issues seriously. We will defend our right to compete fairly in the marketplace so that we can continue to deliver innovative products to our customers."

Slessor added, "Companies producing leading-edge, non-memory devices are increasingly turning to MicroProbe for probe cards that address their complex technical and economic test challenges. In the last 12 months alone, we shipped more than 500 MEMS-based probe cards, making MicroProbe the world's fifth largest supplier. Last week, we broadened our portfolio by launching the Mx-FinePitch (Mx-FP) product, a multi-DUT ultra-fine-pitch probe card. We will continue to innovate and provide our customers with probe-card solutions, and will not let FormFactor's action distract us from this effort."
