VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) -[ AQM Copper Inc. ] (TSX VENTURE:AQM)(BVLAC:AQM) ("AQM" or "the Company") announces continuing positive drill results from the [ Zafranal ] project located in the northwestern extension of the Southern Peru Copper Porphyry Belt near the city of Arequipa. Today, the company reports [ drill results ] from 1 RC hole and 7 diamond drill holes. (View AQM's [ drill plan map ]).

* Hole ended in mineralization

Hole ZFDDH10-32 was drilled 100 metres east of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-33 (74m @ 0.38 % Cu) and 80 metres north of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-24 (25.3m @ 0.62% Cu), leaving the zone open towards the north along this section.

Hole ZFRC10-38 was drilled along the same section as ZFDDH10-32, 100 metres south of hole ZFDDH10-24. The results suggest that high-grade mineralization remains open towards the south along this section.

Hole ZFDDH10-46 is a 100 metre step-out to the northeast of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-29 (256m @ 0.44% Cu) and leaves the mineralization open towards the east and at depth as the hole ended in mineralization. High-grade secondary enrichment mineralization continues to be expanded towards the east and the zone remains open in that direction.

Hole ZFDDH10-51 was drilled 100 metres south of hole ZFDDH10-46 and shows that the zone remains open to the south.

Hole ZFDDH10-48 was drilled westwards from the same pad as previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-20 (85.5m @ 1.23% Cu). This hole was aimed at cutting a north-south late-mineral dyke and testing its true width. The results show that the high-grade supergene enrichment blanket extends westwards and is cut by an approximately 10 metre wide dyke. Hole ZFDDH10-49 is a 100 metres step-out to the west of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-44 (63.7m @ 0.41% Cu) and is the most westerly drill hole reported to date.

Hole ZFDDH10-50 is a twin hole of previously reported drill hole ZFRC10-64 (172m @ 0.62% Cu). Results from this hole are lower than those reported in its RC twin, however they show that mineralization continues at depth. Hole ZFRC10-75 was drilled 100 metres north of drill hole ZFDDH10-50 and shows the continuation of the zone towards the north along this section.

Drilling through May has focused on a [ 2km long segment ] of the 3.5+km east-west trending intensely mineralized Main Zone, one of six porphyry copper-gold targets within the [ Zafranal ] project. The Company continues an aggressive drill program at Zafranal with the plan to drill 40,000 metres that will include grid drilling the Main Zone, testing of the east and west extensions of the Main Zone, deep drilling on the Main Zone, and testing several of the satellite targets during 2010.

AQM can acquire an initial 51% interest in the Zafranal copper-gold porphyry project from Teck Cominco Peru S.A. ("Teck"), subject to Teck's right to earn-back to a 60% interest. The agreement also provides options for AQM to increase its interest to 60% and to 100% if Teck does not exercise its earn-back right.

The Company has established a rigorous QA/QC program at Zafranal, which includes the insertion of blanks, duplicates and certified standards into the sample stream. Core is photographed on site and subsequently sawed in half, with one half sent for analysis and the other half stored for future reference and assay verification. RC chips are split twice on site using a riffle splitter, with 25% of the sample being sent to the laboratory for assay and the rest stored for future verification purposes. All Zafranal samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's sample preparation facility in the city of Arequipa, where they are crushed and pulverized. Prepared samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's certified laboratory in Lima where they are analysed for gold, copper and multi-element ICP.

Dr. Tom Henricksen, consultant geologist of the Company and Chief Geologist for AQM Peru, the Company's Qualified Person for the purposes of NI 43-101, has approved the information contained in this news release.
