MOUNT LAUREL, NJ--(Marketwire - June 23, 2010) - TelVue Corporation (OTCBB: [ TEVE ]), the innovation leader in [ digital broadcast ][ video server ] and [ live Internet streaming ] technology for [ hyperlocal ] and [ community media ], today announced that WHYY selected TelVue's [ PBCore ] compatible digital media archive and retrieval system for archiving the complete Fresh Air with Terry Gross audio library. Produced by WHYY in Philadelphia and broadcast nationally by NPR, Fresh Air attracts nearly 5 million listeners each week and is broadcast on more than 500 NPR stations. PBCore, the Public Broadcasting Metadata Dictionary Project, offers a standard way of describing and using broadcast content for retrieval and sharing. TelVue's PBCore storage and archiving solution deployed at WHYY supports digital audio archiving and storage for WHYY's Fresh Air, making content more accessible for reuse, collaboration, Internet distribution, or as niche content for specific community, service, and institutional needs.

"Fresh Air is one of public radio's most popular and successful programs, and it was critical for WHYY to be able to digitally archive and then efficiently search, retrieve and share the full value of each program in the 30+ years of well-produced interviews -- a continuing history of the American culture and experience," said Bill Weber, WHYY Public Media VP & Chief Technology Officer. "The customized TelVue PBCore storage and archiving solution gives us the flexibility, control and content management we need to ensure full utilization of this resource in new ways. As we continue to standardize on PBCore, we look forward to transitioning additional multimedia asset libraries, including video, to PBCore standardized management."

"TelVue has extensive experience delivering leading-edge digital broadcast and video server systems for public stations like WHYY, and is one of the first companies to develop commercially available PBCore solutions," said Jesse Lerman, CEO of TelVue Corporation. "Our PBCore storage and archiving system supports audio and video content, and simplifies the search and retrieval of digital media assets around PBCore's highly flexible metadata system. We look forward to working with WHYY and other public and community media stations to power PBCore archiving and retrieval of station generated media content."
