ANNAPOLIS, MD and SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 30, 2009) - CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2009 Conference, Booth 201 - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: [ TSYS ]), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless communications, today announced Joe Hannan, Vice President for Location Products for TCS, is speaking at the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2009 Conference from October 7-9, 2009 in San Diego, CA on a panel titled, "LBS -- Vital to Mobile Interaction."

WHAT:
The "LBS -- Vital to Mobile Interaction" panel will discuss the popularity of Location Based Services and how they are critical to both Enterprise and Consumer needs, but these applications have not yet reached critical mass or become an integral part of mobile living. Panelists will address the business of cultivating this need through mobile marketing and advertising and address the technological needs of coverage, reliability and interoperability. Market impediments to growing adoption of LBS will also likely be addressed.

WHO:
Mr. Hannan is responsible for the development of the complete location portfolio at TCS. This includes platforms, such as the Xypoint® Location Platform (XLP) and Enhanced 9-1-1 Mobile Positioning Center, as well as commercial applications including Family locator and Navigation. In addition, Mr. Hannan brings more than 19 years of telecommunication engineering and network operations experience in wireless networks, product management and wireless data to TCS. Having held multiple senior management positions during his tenure at Qwest Wireless, Mr. Hannan's responsibilities included network operations, wireless data engineering and operations, applications engineering and wireless network planning. He completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Denver.
