NEWARK, CA--(Marketwire - September 23, 2009) - Socket Mobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ SCKT ]), an innovative provider of mobile productivity solutions, today announced the addition of Viziflex Seels, Inc. to the Socket Third Party Accessory Recommendation (STAR) Program. Viziflex developed and are now selling a customized line of transparent form-fitting polyurethane protective skins for the Socket SoMo® 650 handheld computer and the Socket Bluetooth® Cordless Hand Scanner™ Series 7 to help protect the devices against adverse environmental conditions.

"We're happy to have Viziflex on board as a STAR partner, as they provide Socket customers with a new level of versatility in terms of protective options for their Socket products," said Ron Gibbs, Sr. product manager and STAR Program manager at Socket Mobile. "A number of our customers use their products in environments where they can potentially be damaged due to moisture, dust or prolonged exposure to weather, and because the Viziflex skin can be used alone or in conjunction with the FlexGuard protective cover for the SoMo 650, it's the perfect solution for customers who want that additional layer of protection from the elements."

Viziflex protective skins can be sterilized and/or easily cleaned with an antimicrobial spray or wipe, which makes them ideal for use in healthcare, hospitality and retail applications.

"Nearly 70 percent of our business comes from the healthcare sector, which makes the STAR Program a great fit for us," said Michael Glicksman, president and owner of Viziflex Seels. "Our partnership with Socket reflects our dedication to providing customized solutions that exceed customer expectations."

Debuting in June 2009 and consisting of multiple vendor partners who offer products that have been tested and verified for use with Socket products, the STAR Program is designed to provide customers with proven third-party solutions that enhance the capabilities and versatility of the Socket product line.
