Schaeffer's Option Skews: Relatively Heavy Call Activity on Research in Motion Limited, Intel Corp, and Career Education Corp

CINCINNATI--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Research in Motion Limited (NASDAQ: RIMM), Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC), Career Education Corp (NASDAQ: CECO), Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), and Citigroup Inc (NYSE: C) were among the companies seeing a skew toward call buying on Friday.

As noted last week, call buyers were interested in Research in Motion on both on Wednesday and Thursday. That trend continued Friday. However, the intraday chart shows this optimism comes amid sharp weakness. The shares gapped lower on February 11 and have slid steadily lower since then. The stock is showing a short-term oversold condition but it appears that hope is already high that a bounce is coming. This sets the stage for a potential disappointment.
