i2Telecom International Selected by Main Street Broadband to Support its Rural Broadband Initiative

ATLANTA--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--i2Telecom International, Inc. ("i2Telecom^®") (OTCBB: [ ITUI ]), a leading developer of award-winning patented and innovative high-quality mobile applications and services, today announced that it has been selected to participate in Main Street Broadband, LLC‘s ("Main Street") initiative to bring broadband infrastructure to rural and suburban areas. Main Street a participant in the program through it's subsidiary – Broadband South, selected i2Telecom as its primary provider of voice services in rural and suburban areas where it will provide broadband services. The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) of the USDA loan program awarded Broadband South $34 million, which is in the process of loan closure, to construct wireless broadband networks in rural communities in Georgia and Florida operating under the Main Street brand.

i2Telecom's voice service offering provides the user with home telephone service through a broadband connection. The user connects an analog telephone adapter (ATA) to his/her broadband connection and home telephone. The user can keep his/her existing telephone number by porting the existing number to the i2Telecom service. All calls are routed through i2Telecom's switch and least cost routing servers. The user benefits by taking advantage of i2Telecom's greatly reduced local, long distance and international long distance call rates. The i2Telecom service is platform agnostic to any ATA connections.
