Cyber-Ark Joins Check Points OPSEC Alliance Program
NEWTON, Mass.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Cyber-Ark Software ], the leading provider of solutions for managing sensitive Information, today announced that it has joined Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd.'s (NASDAQ: CHKP) Open Platform for Security (OPSEC™) Alliance.
Cyber-Ark's Inter-Business Vault® (IBV) provides both business and IT departments with unprecedented governance over sensitive data exchange processes. IBV eliminates the need to rely on emails or FTP servers when need to exchange sensitive information with 3rd parties. It provides business users the ability to exchange sensitive information "ad-hoc" without the need to have IT involved in the process; however, IT and security departments can govern the process from a security stand point and apply their policies so that the exchanged information as well as the corporate network will not be at risk due to the connectivity with the 3rd parties.
One of the main challenges of exchanging sensitive information with 3rd parties is the ability to make sure that once the sensitive information has reached the 3rd party's network or workstation, it will not leak.
"While data leak prevention (DLP) solutions are focusing on preventing sensitive information from leaking outside of the corporate network, IBV addresses the business need of sharing sensitive information selectively with 3rd parties", said Roy Adar, VP Product Management. "However, DLP can only control your own network and cannot control the 3rd party's network. The integration of IBV with ISW is unique as it extends DLP capabilities to the 3rd party's workstation on which you have no control of, which results in an end-to-end highly secure data-exchange solution with data leak prevention capabilities."
"Businesses depend on the availability and exchange of information," said Juliette Sultan, head of global marketing at Check Point. "It's imperative the information remains protected and can be exchanged securely. As a member of the OPSEC alliance program, Cyber-Ark will be able to integrate IBV with Check Point security solutions, allowing joint customers to safeguard data exchanged through IBV."
