LeCroy s DisplayPort " Compliance Package Approved by Video Electronics Standards Association
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ LeCroy Corporation ] (NASDAQ: LCRY), a leading supplier of oscilloscopes and serial data test solutions, today announced that its DisplayPort™ physical layer compliance package was approved by the [ Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) ]. LeCroy's [ QPHY-DisplayPort ] package helps customers bring products to market faster by quickly identifying the source of compliance errors.
"The next generation of computers and other consumer electronics equipment, such as HD LCD displays and DVD players, will be equipped with the DisplayPort standard," said LeCroy Chief Executive Officer, Tom Reslewic. "In order for these products to get to market, they will need to pass a DisplayPort compliance test. LeCroy's QPHY-DisplayPort will ensure that a company's new product is ready to pass the test. Combined with LeCroy's SDA II serial data package, the source of any compliance errors will be quickly identified. LeCroy's easy-to-use automated testing and analysis tools offer unmatched insight for diagnosing and solving compliance issues."
"We are pleased to add LeCroy's compliance test package for DisplayPort 1.1a to our approved list of tools for development and industry adoption of the DisplayPort standard," said Bill Lempesis, Executive Director, VESA. "LeCroy's efforts make it possible for companies to quickly test the compliance of the physical layer of their designs to the DisplayPort standard."
[ QPHY-DisplayPort ] software works with LeCroy's Serial Data Analyzer (SDA) line of digital oscilloscopes to provide an automated test environment in accordance with Version 1.1a of the VESA DisplayPort PHY Compliance Test Standard. LeCroy's oscilloscope architecture integrates compliance testing with its SDA 9000, SDA 11000 and SDA 13000 Serial Data Analyzer debugging tools for complete drill down to find the source of the failure. These debugging tools measure millions of unit intervals at speeds up to 50 times faster than any other oscilloscope.
Fully integrated into LeCroy's [ QualiPHY ] automated test engine, QPHY-DisplayPort drastically reduces test time and makes compliance testing easy. As with the other standards supported by QualiPHY, QPHY-DisplayPort features automated oscilloscope control for accurate measurements, connection diagrams showing the proper setup for each test, and report generation available in HTML, XML or PDF formats.
LeCroy also announced today the launch of its [ QPHY-HDMI ] software package for the SDA family of Serial Data Analyzers. QPHY-HDMI provides a concise set of validation/verification and debug tools written in accordance with version 1.3c of the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) electrical test specifications. HDMI™ test modes cover amplitude, timing and jitter parameters.

About DisplayPort
DisplayPort, developed in 2007, is targeting the flat-panel display for the computer market and is expected to replace VGA, DVI and LVDS. [ QPHY-DisplayPort ] is available for SDA 9000, SDA 11000 and SDA 13000 oscilloscopes. LeCroy recommends using the Efficere ET-DP-TPA-P (plug test adapter) and 10 two-inch GPPO-to-SMA cables. This equipment is available from Efficere individually or as part of the ET-DP-TPA-S Test Adapter Set.
About HDMI
HDMI, originally developed in 2003, has become the de facto standard for all consumer electronic connections to HDTVs. [ QPHY-HDMI ] is available for SDA 760Zi, DDA 760Zi, WavePro 760Zi (SDA II option required) and SDA 6020. LeCroy recommends using the Efficere ET-HDMI-TPA-P (plug test adapter) used in conjunction with ET-HDMI-TPA-E (EDID board with EEPROM) as well as eight two-inch GPPO-to-SMA cables. This equipment is available from Efficere individually or as part of the ET-HDMI-TPA-S Test Adapter Set. Also required, four LeCroy HDMI Pull-Up Terminators, part number TF-HDMI-3.3V-QUADPAK.
About QualiPHY
[ QualiPHY ], LeCroy's automated test engine, is designed to reduce the time and effort needed to perform compliance testing on a wide array of high-speed serial buses. QualiPHY is the most intuitive and efficient tool available for performing serial data compliance testing. Selecting a new standard or test setup is done without leaving the main screen, and the user can start testing with a single button press. QualiPHY may be executed directly on the host oscilloscope, or it may be run on a computer located anywhere in the world, accessing the oscilloscope via LAN/WAN connections.
