RuggedCom Receives Purchase Order Totaling Over $US 2.1 Million for a Wind Power Application in China

CONCORD, ON, Feb. 28 /CNW/ - RuggedCom Inc. ("RuggedCom") (TSX:RCM), a leading provider of rugged communications networking solutions designed for mission-critical applications in harsh environments, today announced that it has received a purchase order totaling over $US 2.1 million for products used to build the mission-critical communications infrastructure in wind power generation facilities in China. Expected shipments are to be spread out over the next twelve months.

"This is a follow on to a similar order we announced in April of last year," explains Rudi Carolsfeld, Vice President of Sales, Asia Pacific for RuggedCom. "We view this as validation of our approach to the Chinese market and are continuing to make the necessary investments to grow our business in both China and the wind power generation markets."

The order is comprised primarily of RuggedCom's award winning RuggedSwitch® family of Utility Grade Ethernet switches which are used for the wind turbine control system and are interconnected throughout the wind farm.
