SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - February 28, 2011) - (NASDAQ: [ WBSN ]) -- The IT industry's next great security company, Websense delivers differentiated products that solve customer needs and offers a distribution and support channel that brings solutions to market and drives customer advocacy. The Websense® TRITON™ solutions are winning many fans and receiving rave reviews and awards for delivering the best security against modern malware at the lowest total cost. The company's [ TRITON Solution Customer First Initiative ] continues to mutually benefit Websense and its customers. And today, Websense announces that two of its North American channel leaders are recognized as CRN Channel Chiefs, a coveted industry award for those who work very closely with the value added reseller and managed service provider community to defend, promote, and execute effective partner strategies and programs.

Websense vice president of worldwide channels [ Kurt Mills ] and Canadian country manager [ Fiaaz Walji ] are both honored for their channel leadership, partner advocacy, and dedication to ensuring that channel partners' voices are heard and their business needs remain a top priority for the company. Under Mills' leadership, Websense launched new business-building resources that led to record year-over-year growth for its managed channel partners, and a sizable increase for systems integrators and IT consultants.

Among the resources introduced last year were the [ TRITON Solution Technical Enablement Program ], which includes the TRITON Olympian Certification, and the [ TRITON Solution Customer First Initiative ]. The Customer First Initiative is a three-pronged program with enhanced support, training, and tools; and education to help customers more effectively market, sell, and support the Websense TRITON solution.

Websense also made several enhancements to the Websense Global Channel Partner Program and introduced a new Success Scorecard to drive greater performance and accountability. Adopted globally by Websense, this metric-driven reporting infrastructure aligns with the company's sales methodology, giving partners more business intelligence to help grow channel sales and increase profitability.

In 2010, Websense continued to invest in its field marketing and technical resources to make it easier for channel partners to engage with customers and prospects, and communicate the technical excellence and business value of the Websense TRITON architecture and unified content security solutions.

"The arrival of TRITON, the Customer First Initiative, and our new TRITON Technical Enablement Program allowed our channel partners to leapfrog over the competition on multiple fronts and deliver a never-before-seen lineup of unified content security solutions," says Didier Guibal, executive vice president, worldwide sales, Websense. "Our channel partners play a key role in the Websense go-to-market strategy and the rapidly growing global adoption of our TRITON architecture. It's rewarding to see CRN once again recognize the channel commitment of Websense and our North America sales leadership team with two Channel Chief designations."

Channel Chiefs are chosen by Everything Channel's editorial team based on criteria including: policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities.

"Being named a Channel Chief is one of the most prestigious honors in the IT industry," said Kelley Damore, vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel. "This year's Channel Chiefs offer tremendous insight into the who's who of the channel. Top channel executives consistently ensure that the channel's voice is heard when strategic decisions are being made and continually nurture mutually profitable relationships. We applaud this year's Channel Chiefs for their successful partner programs and strategies."
