SAN JOSE, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced a major update to [ Adobe® Scene7® ], the leading hosted cross media publishing platform, providing expanded offerings for optimizing rich mobile experiences and data-driven dynamic banners. In addition, the Adobe Scene7 platform now provides end-to-end video publishing capabilities for mobile devices and multiple screens, enabling non-technical users to deliver video to all customer touch points. This update also integrates with [ Adobe Creative Suite® 5 ]*, to streamline workflows and with [ Adobe SiteCatalyst® ] and [ Adobe Test&Targeta" ], powered by Omniture®**, to automate website analytics and optimization. Lastly, the update includes a solution accelerator kit to simplify the development of web-to-print applications.

"The new end-to-end publishing workflow has enabled us to serve video into our mobile applications to further extend our rich experiences and engage our customers wherever they shop."

aWith the rapid expansion of the mobile channel, marketers are faced with an additional medium for which they need to interact and engage with their customers,a said Sheila Dahlgren, senior director of product marketing, Adobe. aHowever, many marketers may not have access to additional resources required to develop and publish unique content to multiple marketing channels. These latest enhancements for producing rich, dynamic content once and publishing it easily across different devices and screens, along with the new analytics and optimization integrations that are now part of the Adobe Scene7 platform, help marketers and ecommerce leaders leverage rich media much more efficiently and greatly reduce the cost of content delivery.a

Rich Media Experiences to Mobile Devices and Screens

The Adobe Scene7 platform now supports mobile rich media viewers, enabling businesses to easily deliver rich content, including video to enhance the user experience for mobile devices and multiple screens. This reduces the cost and complexity of delivering rich media to desktops, interactive displays and mobile devices by leveraging one single platform to create, store and deliver assets, instead of developing a unique experience tailored for each device. New capabilities include:

  • Dynamic image sizing: Serves optimized rich experiences across digital channels (Web, social, print, email and mobile) from a single set of images that can be automatically resized to any dimension, format or resolution, significantly reducing production time and costs.
  • Full screen image zoom viewers for Adobe Flash® Player compatible as well as devices that are not Flash Player compatible: Supports multi-touch and gesture-based interfaces, a wide array of mobile viewers for images, image sets, color swatch sets and multiple view sets in many different styles.
  • End-to-end video publishing for multiple screens: Offers the ability to upload and custom encode videos into Flash Player compatible and non-compatible formats for optimal serving to mobile, desktop and interactive displays.
  • Full-screen Flash Player compatible video: Enables the serving or streaming of video content with out-of-box viewers.

aThe Adobe Scene7 platform has been an invaluable resource for us in delivering rich experiences to our consumers,a said Neal Preece, e-commerce director for Shop Direct a" the leading online and home shopping retailer in the United Kingdom. aThe new end-to-end publishing workflow has enabled us to serve video into our mobile applications to further extend our rich experiences and engage our customers wherever they shop.a

Dynamic Banners for Targeted Promotions

Adobe also introduced Scene7 Dynamic Banners that provide the ability to create content once and leverage the assets to deliver different and unique banner experiences using a single template. Marketers can now deliver variable image and animated banners with and without video, including video created using the .FLV format, reducing the time and costs for creating, modifying and publishing targeted content. Each template variation can be created in real-time leveraging any database, such as product, promotions or CRM, removing the need to create a unique version of a banner for different visitors. This also eliminates the resources and time required to edit source files, modify complex code or undergo time-consuming processes to update banners manually.

Optimized Rich Media Delivery with Adobe SiteCatalyst and Adobe Test&Target

SiteCatalyst now integrates with Adobe Scene7**, enabling users who also license SiteCatalyst to map rich media viewer events, such as product views, product zooms, color swatch views and video views, to SiteCatalyst report variables, directly from within the Adobe Scene7 platform. This enables marketers to determine the subsequent path visitors take through a website to better understand how rich media delivery affects variables such as time on site, purchases and other conversion events.

Test&Target also integrates with Adobe Scene7** to help marketers licensing both solutions automatically personalize visitor experiences in real-time by optimizing sites and campaigns with Scene7 rich media content. Using Scene7 image or video templates, rich content can be dynamically delivered to A/B or multivariate testing campaigns depending on a visitora™s profile parameters or prior site activity. Relevant offers consisting of different combinations of text copy and rich visual elements, which can include video, are created directly from the Scene7 Publishing System and are immediately available within Test&Target*, eliminating the need to manually create new campaigns.

aThe ability to access the Adobe Online Marketing Suite, powered by Omniture, within Adobe Scene7**, serves to further Adobea™s mission to provide our customers with a more complete solution for creating, managing and optimizing dynamic content, while also measuring and personalizing online campaigns,a said Dahlgren.

Creative Suite 5 Integration for Streamlining Desktop to Web Workflows

The Adobe Scene7 platform has further streamlined workflows via a new Creative Suite 5 Extension. Creatives can now browse, upload, download, manage, edit and update Scene7 assets within Creative Suite in real-time. This eliminates the need to switch between desktop applications and the hosted service, making the user experience more efficient and productive. Creatives can view multiple Scene7 Web variations of their Creative Suite files from within the desktop application.

Web-to-Print Solution Accelerator for Simplified Application Development

The new Web-to-Print Solution Accelerator enables developers to easily build and deploy rich and engaging front-end applications such as localized marketing materials, greeting cards, stationery and photo products using Scene7 variable data templates. A convenient, pre-configured sample application built with the Adobe Flex® open source framework assists developers to quickly integrate the Scene7 Web-to-Print solution into their websites. The Solution Accelerator allows developers to integrate innovative Flash Text editors into their Web-to-Print client application for improved rich text editing and formatting.

*The Creative Suite 5 Extension works in conjunction with Adobe Creative Suite 5. The user is required to separately license Creative Suite 5 to use this functionality.

**SiteCatalyst and Test&Target work in conjunction with services provided by Omniture, a business unit of Adobe. In order to establish this functionality within Adobe Scene7, the user is required to enter into a separate written agreement with Omniture, a business unit of Adobe.
