U.S. Navy Awards $500,000 Contract to Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. for Port Security

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc ]. (AMEX:IDN), a global leader in identity technology, access control and wireless security systems, announced today that the U.S. Navy added approximately $500,000 of additional R&D funding for the Companya™s Floating Area Network (FAN) technology and Littoral Sensor Grid (LSG) wireless security buoy project.

The wireless security buoys provide a high-capacity sensor and communications network that provides real-time monitoring and reporting of littoral marine environments. The projecta™s key focus is anti-terrorism, with sensors integrated into the network to provide an outer perimeter early warning capability. As a secondary function, the buoys measure and report critical water quality factors that affect fragile marine ecosystems.

Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. developed the buoy platforms and began testing integrated sensor suites in Puget Sound in 2008, with a goal of enhancing waterside and port security. Since then, the system and its extensive capabilities have advanced to a level of sophistication that has gained national interest.
