AFOP Announces Preliminary Financial Results with Record Quarterly Sales and the Third Quarter 2010 Conference Call Invitation

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: AFOP), an innovative supplier of fiber optic components, subsystems and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market, today announced its preliminary net sales for the quarter ending September 30, 2010. These results are subject to change as a result of final management review and closing adjustments for the quarter ending on September 30, 2010.

For the 3rd quarter of 2010, the Company expects to report net sales above $13 million, which is another record for quarterly sales for AFOP and exceeds the previously issued revenue guidance announced in the 2nd quarter conference call. This revenue level represents approximately 91% growth compared with the year ago quarter. In the meantime, gross margin should improve to be above 35%, which would result in the Companya™s delivering record quarterly operating profits of above $2 million as well.
