Cubic to Collaborate With RhinoCorps on Immersive Training System for Security Forces
ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - June 9, 2010) - Cubic Corporation (
Cubic's Innovation and Technology Center, based in Orlando's Research Park complex, is leading the development effort. The "core" system will be designed to deliver training in the computer-based constructive training domain and can be expanded to include virtual and live training domains.
Simajin, a constructive simulation application developed by RhinoCorps, will serve as the scenario driver. Cubic will provide the live-virtual interfaces with Simajin's software, along with the ability to integrate a commercial gaming engine, a three-dimensional terrain generator, Cubic's COMBATREDI "virtual reality" system or its MILES Individual Weapon System (IWS) laser tactical engagement system.
These components will merge to provide an immersive training experience that will allow security forces to develop their skills in force-on-force direct-action engagement; executing tactics, techniques and procedures; developing and executing courses of action; site vulnerability and protection planning; crisis response planning; after-action assessment and sharing of lessons learned. Small units will be able to participate as a virtual or live entity within a constructive training environment, or execute mission rehearsal exercises for real-world security missions.
