Tekelec, Camiant and Blueslice Networks to Participate in Next Generation Core Networks Summit and LTE World Summit

MORRISVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - May 17, 2010) - [ Tekelec ] (NASDAQ: [ TKLC ]), the session and mobile data management company, along with newly acquired policy control leader [ Camiant ]and evolved subscriber data management (SDM) pioneer [ Blueslice Networks ], will participate in the [ Next Generation Core Networks Summit ] and [ LTE World Summit ]. Both events will be held May 18-19 at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Tekelec and Blueslice are scheduled to speak; Blueslice will exhibit at Pod 5 and Camiant will exhibit at Pod 6.

Matt McCann, principal engineer at Tekelec, is scheduled to present at the Next Generation Core Networks Summit on May 18 at 2:50 p.m. His presentation will discuss the shift from signaling system 7 (SS7) to the evolved signaling core, focusing on the Diameter signaling protocol. McCann will cover how service providers can create a robust and scalable signaling core and secure and add value to long term evolution (LTE) networks using Diameter. The presentation will also address delivering high quality of service (QoS) and deriving businesses intelligence from the network.

McCann brings more than 20 years of telecommunications experience, including 12 years at Tekelec in product management and marketing for the [ EAGLE product family ]. Prior to joining Tekelec, McCann worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories in various systems engineering and system test roles for both switching and intelligent network (IN) systems. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Drexel University, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Ball State University.

Frederic Bastien, director of product management for Tekelec's subscriber data management solutions and formerly of Blueslice Networks, will participate on the LTE World Summit panel discussion, "How Will Customers Connecting Multiple Numbers of Devices Over the Network Affect the Operator's Business Model?" This will be held at 5:30 p.m. as part of Track 2 of the program on May 19.

Bastien has more than 12 years of international telecom experience, leading technical projects and teams within both network equipment vendors and network operators. Prior to joining Blueslice, he held wireless business development, product management, and project management roles at Nortel. Bastien holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with telecom specialization, from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
