LITTLE FALLS, NJ--(Marketwire - May 14, 2010) - mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: [ XDSL ]), the developer of Power on Command™ battery technologies, and consumer products has passed a series of rigorous safety tests necessary to qualify for CE marking. The CE mark is a mandatory conformity mark that certifies that a product has met EU (European Union) consumer safety requirements. Both the mPower Emergency Illuminator and the Power On Command™ reserve battery technology have met the CE requirements.

The CE mark allows both products to be sold in the European Economic Area, which includes members and non-members of the European Union comprising over 350 million consumers. CertifiGroup acted as the primary contractor, coordinating the CE tests for both the Illuminator and the reserve battery. MET Labs ran the tests for Illuminator compliance, while Intertek did the tests for the reserve cell compliance.

The CE marking verifies that the Illuminator and the reserve cell battery have met all relevant European Union consumer safety requirements. In order to supply products into the European Union it is mandatory that these products comply with and be labeled in accordance with the CE requirements. The application of the CE mark to a product declares that the product complies with the applicable European Directives.

Ronald A. Durando, CEO of mPhase Technologies, "The CE mark is an important certification for mPower because it unlocks the European market. Considering that the Illuminator was designed by the world-renowned Porsche Design Studio in Austria, and that the product is manufactured in Austria, securing the right to sell our product in Europe makes solid business sense."

mPower Emergency Illuminator
The mPower Emergency Illuminator is a precision designed instrument with a powerful LED and a USB charging port with two separate battery tubes. One tube is for everyday use and holds two CR123 batteries, while the other tube holds mPhase's Power On Command™ reserve battery. If the regular CR123 batteries run down, the reserve battery provides power even after laying idle for 20 years.

The mPower Emergency Illuminator has received numerous accolades -- and was a nominee and received an Innovations 2010 Personal Electronics Design and Engineering Award at this year's prestigious Consumer Electronics Show. It is the first mPhase product available to consumers that offers Power On Command™ -- a groundbreaking battery technology that provides power when and where you need it.
