LINBIT USA, LLC: Logicworks Partners With LINBIT to Lower Costs and Boost Performance/Availability of Managed Cloud Service
NEW YORK, NY and VIENNA, AUSTRIA--(Marketwire - August 20, 2009) - Logicworks, a leading provider of high availability and private cloud hosting solutions, today announced that it is working with LINBIT, a global provider of redundant storage replication solutions, to develop a high-performance replication system for Logicworks' customers. LINBIT DRBD open source technology combined with an InfiniBand fabric from Mellanox will lower costs and make it possible to achieve unprecedented levels of input/output (I/O) performance, leading to improved cloud-based storage management and disaster recovery capabilities.
LINBIT develops and supports DRBD, a leading storage replication technology commonly deployed in high-availability clusters. DRBD allows users to maintain full redundancy at the data level, while foregoing the high cost traditionally associated with such configurations.

Logicworks has been using DRBD extensively over the years in its round-the-clock, 24/7 hosting business that has formed the core of its company. Mellanox is participating through its role as part of the OpenFabrics Alliance, an industry consortium focusing on middleware software for high-performance, low-latency networks.

Based on the Linux operating system and maintained as open source software, the new solution will also utilize the most up-to-date hardware and software to offer customers an unparalleled service in the cloud. The high-performance database and storage environments will be delivered though an open architecture of highly resilient, clustered application storage and can substitute many replication systems, at a substantially reduced cost.
