SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - August 11, 2009) - RAE Systems Inc. (NYSE Amex: [ RAE ]), a leader in delivering innovative sensor solutions to serve industrial, energy, environmental, and government safety markets worldwide, hired William (Bill) Jackson, 50, as vice president of global marketing, who is reporting to Robert Chen, president and CEO of RAE Systems.

"Bill brings over 20 years of experience in technology businesses spanning semiconductors, consumer electronics, software and intellectual property licensing," said Chen. "Among many projects at Eastman Kodak, Bill led a team that increased image sensor sales from $50 million to $80 million in 2005, headed software product integration, and executed licensing of intellectual property portfolios. We expect Bill will leverage his understanding of technology and positioning to help us market our next generation products."

Most recently, Jackson was vice president of product marketing at ARC International, a leading supplier of semiconductor intellectual property. In this role, Jackson was responsible for helping to transition the ARC brand from a processor IP company into a broader participant in the licensing of pre-verified audio and video solutions.

Prior to ARC, Jackson held a number of positions over a span of 10 years at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY, including managing new business development for the Digital Still Camera business, general manager for consumer digital imaging software, vice president of marketing and sales for the image sensor component business and director of the intellectual property licensing group. Jackson has also held numerous technical and business positions at MIPS Technologies, Inc; Toshiba America, Digital Equipment Corporation and RCA Corporation. Bill holds an M.B.A. From Boston University and a B.S.E.E. from the University of Pittsburgh holds three issued US Patents with several more pending.
